Vision | Mission | Strategic Goals | Officers & Directors
Our goal is to add comfort to the recovering wounded, from all branches of the service, and help with some of the things they need for a little better quality of life, as well as assisting them in their recovery. This is done through the amazing efforts of the “Warrior Foundation,” headed up by Rick Roberts, KFMB760, and the San Diego Council of the Navy League. With Rick’s help, we have been able to raise over 3 million dollars for sending our heroes home for the holidays, and assistance with their needs while recuperating. We have been blessed with thousands of donations and many thousands of supporters for this universal and ‘work-together’ campaign for the heroes of our nation.
The Freedom Station concept has grown based on the needs we have witnessed in our other efforts to bring assistance to our wounded heroes. In this regard we have formed a separate and distinct organization to help us reach the goal of providing this absolutely necessary service to our returning heroes.
We are now focused on establishing an effort to build recovery transition centers, beginning in San Diego, CA. These Freedom Stations are patterned off the mission of the Freedom Trains of 1947 and 1976. In a very real sense, this effort is intended to assist in the ‘time of doubt’ after the retirement or discharge of mentally and physically challenged military members.
In this critical time of each soldier’s life comes the many decisions that may affect the rest of his/her life. They need help pursuing a career, locating or purchasing housing in our communities, choosing a college or vocational school and getting enrolled, getting back and forth to doctors and physical rehabilitation appointments. We feel a helping hand at this point in their lives between the military and the awesome task of returning to productive civilian active lives, for the rest of their lives, is the best way to help solve some of the issues wartime causes.
Our wounded warriors are a very proud bunch of guys and gals, and they don’t want to be a burden on anyone. Persistence and enthusiasm are attributes each of our wounded warriors possesses. This drive and strong will to achieve success will help us to assist them in surmounting the rough road of remarkable mental change and challenge.
We are looking for support of our efforts from all who might care about the fate of our valiant heroes. We have an initial site spotted, and would like to proceed once funding can be secured through government grant, or plain old fundraising.
Vision
Freedom Station will be a transition place for wounded warriors to reconcile their loss, and to gather strength for the challenges yet to come.
As a center for caring, for counsel, for care, and a beacon for achievement in the future, we present 'Freedom Station', Providing a center for the recovery, healing, job counseling, trade and skills education, and transitional mediation for our heroes of sacrifice', and help them forge the road to recovery and education in pursuit of the American Dream.
The purpose of the Freedom Station programs is to strengthen the social, spiritual, psychological and physical well-being of those we serve. Freedom accomplishes this through its mission of providing those we serve with the tools to improve their quality of life, reconcile injuries, and assist and educate in the transition to the private sector.
Families will also play a huge role in adapting to the 'new life' ahead. Injuries not only affect the physically injured, but the immediate and extended families. Our program is designed to assist the wives and children of our wounded. It is critical that we work to keep the family unit caring and loving, and where we can assist in making a difference to the adaptation of the loved ones.

Mission
Freedom Station will be the leader in providing temporary lodging facilities, educational guidance, counseling, physical therapy, and career opportunities to our Nation’s wounded and disabled military heroes who are medically retired or discharged and begin the transition from defenders of freedom to productive members of America’s civilian work force. Freedom Station will also enable personal interaction between our military warriors and uniquely qualified volunteers and professional counselors at facilities within our main campus and satellite locations. We vow to be the hand up and not a hand out.
Strategic Goals
Honor: Remember the sacrifices our Veterans make each day to protect our way of life and our freedoms; keep faith with those who continue to serve in our Armed Forces; never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Training: Provide opportunities for the Veteran to hone his technical and personal skills to a degree where he overcomes his military related disabilities and is competitive in the free market.
Employment: Assist the Veteran in obtaining meaningful employment commensurate with his present capabilities and potential in an environment that is respectful, understanding, supportive and appreciative.
Organizational Excellence: Value the essence of democracy, our people, and strive to make our program worthy of their trust. Create a culture of mutual respect, unselfish giving, efficiency, accountability, and teamwork.
